Some inside playtime....

So I admit it...I haven't exactly been following my own "rules" since Joacim's been gone.  It's ALL about survival, I've realized, and I've had to loosen up a bit.
For example, we had Chick-fil-a for dinner the other night.  Not what I would normally do, but I didn't feel like spending the time trying to come up with something she would eat, not that she'd eaten this before (even though I tried) but I thought I'd try again, and I'm glad I did because it's now something I can add to the "List of Things Izzy Will Eat".  She started out eating my sandwich (LOVES bread) and when that was finished then moved on to her chicken nuggets.  And sweet tea (yes, I know...horrible for her and me but SOOOOOO YUMMY).  Everything in moderation, right?  :)

She's been pulling out the pimp hat lately, and it's awesome.  All of sudden I'll walk out in the living room and there she is, all pimped out.  Apparently she felt that Sleeping Beauty and the Seven Dwarfs were worthy of the pimp hat.

I've started asking Izzy to "smile" for photos, and this is what I get

Lemmy has been sleeping/hiding a LOT. I think he's just relaxed because Murphy isn't here. I keep telling Lemmy to not get too comfy, but I don't think he's listening

I noticed the damage that Lemmy has been inflicting on the furniture during his headworm episodes, so I got him this scratching pad to see if that would temper anything. It's filled with catnip :)

I'm pretty sure Izzy's enjoying this MUCH more than Lemmy

Playing catch-up

When I looked and saw that it had been November 15th since the last time I updated, I felt AWFUL! But then I think back and can't figure out a time where I could've stopped whatever it was that I was doing and blog anyway.

Things have been a whirlwind around here. Technically, this past Friday was my last day of work for the rest of the year(I say technically because I have a feeling I may have to go back on Monday or Tuesday for a bit), so I've been working a little bit later than I normally do lately, which means there is NO time when we come home. Izzy still isn't sleeping in her bed, but hopefully that's something we can remedy while I'm on vaccation. I've been trying to finish up Christmas shopping (yippeeee!!! almost done!!!!) and get ready for my kidney biopsy on Wednesday. I'd like to make a couple of big meals on Tuesday night so Joacim doesn't have to do too much...he's going to have his hands full with Izzyboo, so I don't want to add anything else to his plate if I don't have to.

This isn't to say we haven't had a LITTLE bit of fun around here...
Here we are at Petsmart. We had gone to Five Guys before this for dinner, and decided to head over to Petsmart. Izzy is REALLY into animals right now, so we thought this would be fun. Here she is looking at the birds..

And a guinea pig. I hope she doesn't think one of these will ever reside in this house :)

I CANNOT get enough of this pimp hat...and neither can she!

Here she is eating cookies...

We got Izzy a radio flyer tricycle for Christmas (but we couldn't wait to open it!!!) She loves this thing. She's a bit short for it right now, but hopefully by this summer she'll be able to pedal herself. And if not, it has a great little handle so Joacim and I can push and steer.

She almost had more fun playing in the box that the tricycle came in!

I guess this was right before Thanksgiving, just to give a time frame of reference. Speaking of Thanksgiving, I want to thank Brad and Missie for so kindly asking us to join their family for Thanksgiving dinner. My family wasn't able to get together this year and they took pity on us :)
Izzy LOVED playing with this toy. Brad had actually played with this when he was a kid, and his mom had kept it for the grandchildren, thankfully! She was entertained the entire day with this! It's too bad that simple toys like this are so hard to find today.

Rented some camera equipment this weekend....

Might not have been a great weekend to do it, but it was an impulse decision and I'm glad I did. I know I want to get a new camera at some point, but I also wanted to try it out before I did, so thankfully the local camera store in Indy had one available. There was also a couple of lenses I wanted to try out for some fun, and they had those too, so I took it all!

I first started with some photos of Murphy. Joacim and Izzy were napping, so we went outside and had some fun. These next 3 photos were taken with a macro lens that I rented, and I LOVED it! I loved that I could get so much detail out of it. I mean, look at his EYE in the 2nd photo! soo cool!

Oh he is a happy dog here

This is the Wubba...his favorite toy. He was kind enough to patiently wait while I snapped this one!

Once we came inside, Murphy went straight into where Izzy was sleeping and I got this shot..so cute

Great to see her sleeping....just wish it was in her own bed :)

Joacim and I had planned a date-night for Saturday, so we had to get going. My sister, Andrea, was kind enough to watch Izzy for the evening, and we went to dinner and a movie up on the north side. We saw the movie "Couples Retreat". HIGH-larious....I so needed a funny movie, and this one had me laughing out loud in the theater! And it was nice to hang out with Joacim solo. I kept having to slow myself down while I was eating...guess I'm just used to trying to shove food in when I get a chance due to a little toddler who shall remain nameless :)
Izzy had a great time at Andrea's. And she found this purple pimp hat that she loved, and I think it's soo funny! I mean, she's never been much for hats, but she actually puts this one on herself and saunters off!
