The first big snow of the winter of 2014....

We had our first big snow of 2014!   This calls for pictures!!!!!

This was Izzy standing outside in the morning before she got on the school bus.  Note the level of snow around the dead flower pods on the left.

Izzy is always so happy when she gets home.  Gawd, I love her!

And this is the snow when she got home.  Note the depth of the snow now.  It was snowing A LOT.

Murphy is intently focused on a ball that is at my feet.  This dog will stop everything at just the promise of a little playtime.

Sun dogs and a little bit o'randomness

Here was the amazing view I had when I drove to work this morning:

I had no idea what this crazy beautiful phenomenon was until I consulted Google.  Here's what Wikipedia told me:

A sun dog, mock sun or phantom sun, scientific name parhelion, is an atmospheric phenomenon that creates bright spots of light in the sky, often on a luminous ring or halo on either side of the sun

Blah blah blah....all I know is that it was beautiful!  Here's a few more photos that others captured.

Sunny day = happy dog

The shoe pile in our hallway is taking over!!!  An end to the madness had to be near!!!

And the following video of Izzy is AWESOME!  We have quite the little performer on our hands, but she always stops when she knows I'm taking picture/video, so I had to sneak up on her.  I tell you, this video makes it all worth it.  Enjoy!!!

Dec 29 - visit to the Children's Museum

She sure was happy when she woke up this morning!  I think I'm seeing a change for the better in her mental well-being since we've been home with her.  There is something to be said for time off with the family...for ALL of us!
On this particular day we decided to go to The Children's Museum.  Earlier in the year, I had found a deal on The Savvy Source to purchase a membership for 1/2 price....but I needed to redeem it by December 31 so we HAD to go.
She l-o-v-e-d the penguin slide.  I think we easily could've spent the rest of the day here.
I think she liked the penguin slide MUCH more than the yule slide (even though we waited in line over 45 minute for it :)

They have a beautiful Chihuly glass exhibit there, and you can take pictures underneath.  Personally, this was the best part of the trip for me.
But I think the best part for Izzy (besides the Yule slide) was the train exhibit.  She was FASCINATED.

LOVE the museum...we only stayed a couple of hours just due to the volume of other visitors.
We never made it to the playscape area, but we're hoping to take a day off during the week to take her there where she can play more freely.

Feeling the weight of delinquency lifting...

I was up ridiculously late last night trying to catch up this blog.  Granted, I've still got tons of stuff from vacation, but I'm OK doing that when I get the chance.  It's been driving me batty that I've got all these videos and photos that I want to show off, but couldn't seem to find enough time to do it.  So, I suffered through the day today from little sleep, but felt MUCH better because I'm almost caught up, and I'd say that I'm completely caught up after this post, so please excuse the randomness...

We were at Babies R Us the other night to pick up some baby gates....not for Izzy, but for Rosie :)  Anyway, here she is running through the store with one show.  I don't condone this, but was pretty much powerless to stop it...

Oh, I almost forgot these.  Joacim came home from the grocery store on Saturday night and told me to go outside to take photos of the moon.  Well, I'm always up for a challenge, and the moon is one of my biggest, so I thought I'd give it a go.  When I went outside, though, I couldn't see it yet because it was so low in the sky, so I took a little drive out to the country to see if I could get some good ones...
I love that you can actually see stars in this one
and you can actually see craters here..so. cool.
This is actually a picture of the crappy retention pond behind our house.  Looks so much better in the moonlight, doesn't it?
Ok, that's all I've got  :)

"Anteebi" is such a big helper

Anteebi is actually Auntie Bri, but that's how Izzy says it and it's pretty damn cute.  She runs all over the house saying, "My Aunti Bri...my Auntie Bri".  She nearly knocked Bri down earlier from trying to crawl up her legs!

Brianne is staying with us for a few days while our parents go to a motorcyclle rally, and she was a HUGE help today!  I was able to get work done this morning (interim review...yuck!  :) and she entertained her while we were at the doctor.  And all day long they've played.  I wish she could be here every day!

We did get a little Wii-time in this evening..

And then freak storm rolled through...

And then a little snuggle after Izzy bumped her head

Joacim commented earlier that we can't compete with Bri, and I think he's right!  :)

Cuteness from yesterday...

I think we got so lucky in the kitty department.  I mean, granted, Lemmy drives me batty sometimes with his claws and craziness, but I think it's great that he and Murphy can be this close now...

And here's little Boo....singing herself to sleep last night.  OMG...too cute

Easter 2010

Izzy woke up EARLY on Easter morning (and by early, I mean 7:00am).  It was my turn to get up with her, and I gotta say that it wasn't easy to drag myself outta bed :)  After we had breakfast (and once Joacim woke up) we could begin the "festivities" :)

I don't think she really understood why she was getting all of the gifts, but that doesn't stop any kid from enjoying them, now does it?

Later on in the afternoon, we went up to Fishers for a family Easter dinner.  Izzy's cousins LOVE playing with her, and I think they were pretty excited to get to see her.
My nephew, JT....lookin' cool
and helping Izzy look cool too
Izzy and Auntie hunting eggs
she looks completely focused on the task at hand...didn't take her long to figure out this whole egg-hunting thing :)
JT is always so helpful with Izzy..LOVE this about him...
Signs of spring...as Joacim said..."it's like the trees blossomed overnight."
My niece, Taylor, finding a very well-hidden egg.  It's funny...when I look at how tall and lanky she's getting, I think back to when she was a baby and I nicknamed her "beefcake" because she was short and had the BEST chub!  Chubby babies are awesome.
Izzy kept seeing this dandelion and thinking it was an egg, so I picked it for her
Here she is with her papaw, Jessie

Izzy LOVES JT.....it's written all over her face here..
My sister, Andrea, is feeding Izzy sour-patch kids, and she LIKED them!  I can't figure this kid out :)
Here she is with mamaw Deb

I think Izzy had a great time with family today.  It was fun to watch her have so much fun.  Makes me think we need to hang out with family a bit more.  Glad summer's coming up!

Once we got home, it was still nice and warm out, so we broke out the sidewalk chalk and got to work.
This is her first experience with sidewalk chalk, and she was more concerned about getting to color with each piece of chalk....see...
It was truly a great day!
