Izzy and Alex

Last Wednesday, Izzy had her best friend, Alex, over for a playdate.  Izzy and Alex go to the same daycare, so they've known each other for a long time, and they are seriously like two peas in a pod.  For example...apparently Alex DEMANDED that her mom cut her hair like Izzy's before she went back to school after vacation.  HOW FREAKING CUTE IS THAT??

This is Alex's mom, Heather, who is AWESOME!  Why is it that I meet great, cool people like this right before we're ready to move????  She's so similar to me, and has lived a cool life.  And I wanted to show you how fast Izzy's room went from order to destruction.....5 minutes.

tea party

they played pretty well together...we had a few moments, but it was still pretty great

Aren't they so stinking ADORABLE????

Izzy's baby sitter, Lindsey, works at the daycare where Izzy and Alex go.  She's actually sat for Alex as well...anyway, she sent me this photo of the two girls.  Apparently they both couldn't stop talking about Alex's visit to our house :)

This is going to be a tough one.  These two girls have so much fun together, and I'm so worried about Izzy and how challenging it's going to be for her to start a new daycare and find new friends.  It's not easy at any age, I guess.  But we're hoping to have Alex over for a sleepover before we move!!!

Playdate with Mady

I'm always so far behind.  Seriously...it's becoming almost comical.  Sadly, Joacim and I have been working late a lot, and by the time we finally get home, eat and bathe, there's very little time for any picture taking or blogging.  I hope things start to settle down pretty soon, because we're tired.

Last weekend was a very nice weekend.  Joacim had to work, so Izzy and I had another playdate with my friend Sarah and her daughter Mady.  You may remember our first playdate.  This time, we went to Mady's house.

It took the girls a bit to warm up to each other.  They were BOTH playing shy.  But after Izzy discovered Mady's dress-up drawer, and the fact that it took STAIRS to get there, she was all good.  It's funny to watch how much Izzy loves stairs...you don't really think about it much, but since we don't have any, I think she's completely fascinated by them, and I think Mady taught her how to slide down them on her bottom :)

Here are the two girls closing the gate together.  If you look closely, you can see that Izzy has some dress-up shoes on and Mady's sporting a mermaid tail.

They played with Mady's kitchen, snacked on some grapes, played with play-doh (both girls have pretty short attention spans :)  Then it was time to make some cookies! (You can tell that Sarah's used to have playdates more than we are.  I wasn't NEARLY as prepared when they were at our house.

And here's the cat, Salem (Sarah, I'm pretty sure that's this cat's name, but if I'm wrong, don't hate me :)
And this is Cooper.  THIS dog is the reason we have Rosie.  After I met Cooper a couple of years ago, I swore I wanted a hound dog (which Cooper is part).  I didn't get a hound dog, but I did get one cute little pooch.  Anyway, Cooper is an AWESOME dog. A big dog, but an awesome dog!
Then it was time to go outside and play on the scooters.  I wasn't sure if Izzy would be able to do it since she's never tried, but she proved me completely wrong.

I love looking at this picture.  I can see these girls as fast friends (and a handful of trouble later on :)

After all that fun (and some yummy cookies) we went to the backyard to hang out.  They have a sandbox, and Izzy hasn't played in one since she was a year old because she wouldn't stop eating the sand :)  This little guy here is Jacob, Mady's brother.  He and his dad came home from a day at the track.  Look how cute that look that Mady's giving her brother!
 OMG...the sweetness...
It's KILLING ME!!!  (and makes me a bit sad because Izzy won't get to have this sibling bond......)
I'm glad to see that Izzy's outgrown her sand-eating habit

SUCH a fun day..thanks Mady

Playdate

My friend Sarah and I were FINALLY able to get together to have some grown-up time while her daughter, Mady, and Izzy got to have some kid-time.

Mady is just a couple of months older than Izzy, and she has a very similar personality.  I was fortunate enough to take their family photos in the fall of 2009, so I had met Mady already, but she was still a bit shy when she got here.  The girls opened up with a little tea party.

While the girls were playing, Sarah and I nerded it up and got her all hooked up on Facebook (wooohooo!), compared apps on our iPads, and played with our cameras.  Pretty dorky when in writing, but fun in actualty :)
It's so funny to see our girls with our gadgets.  Mady and Izzy both LOVE our iPads and iPhones.  Whenever Sarah sat one of them down, Mady was making a move to hijack it.  Izzy's the same way, so it was hice to see that I wasn't alone.
And they were sweet enough (ha!  get it?) to bring some yummy cupcakes as a snack.

I swear if Izzy had two more hands she'd be shovin' them in her mouth to eat the cupcake faster!
And here's my friend, Sarah, who hates having her picture taken.  But hey, she entered a photographer's home...did she REALLY think she was going to get away without getting a snapshot taken?  :)
I can't believe how fast the time flew by!  I take it as a good sign...the girls were good and played well, we got to talk, and cupcakes to boot!  A good day indeed!  Thanks Sarah and Mady!  Next time we'll hang out at your place and Mady can show Izzy all of HER toys :)
