Weekend activities

This was a really nice weekend!  Izzy and I got to spend some time together, which was nice because the week before may have been the busiest work week that I've ever had.  Activities included:
  1. Joacim was traveling, so I was single-parenting
  2. Gymnastics
  3. Gymnastics photos
  4. All-day work meeting followed by all-evening boat cruise
  5. Drive to Canada
  6. Drive back home from Canada

We started off the weekend by playing with playdoh.  We got her a cupcake factory and more playdoh as her old stuff was drying out.  I think we played with this for 2 solid hours :)

Izzy's cookie

And my chocolate chip cookies (not bad, right?)

The next day we went out on the boat.  This was the first day that was truly, truly a nice day to go boating.  The sun was out....it wasn't really all that windy.  Perfect.  Whenever we go, I have to make sure I pack up a lot of options in the cooler for her, and I think that was our only saving grace on this trip.

Luckily, Joacim caught a fish...a tiny one, but a fish nevertheless....

And Izzy was...well....bored.  She can fish for about 10 minutes, and that's being generous.  We're going to have to figure our some way to entertain her besides shoving food in her!

This is the only smile I can get now....

With the cooler temperatures back, it seems that Izzy's found her favorite hat again.  I'm actually a little surprised it fit, and kind of glad too because I knew I couldn't find another one like this.  Anyway, here's an outfit she put together the other day..yes, those are flip-flops she's wearing :)  And that smile....I think that's the only smile I can get right now...one where she's smiling so hard that she squints her eyes and I can't see them!
I did a little closet turnover last weekend.  Everyone seems surprised when I say its an all-day activity, but this is what it looks like:
This is only a small portion of my summer clothes.  I've gotta get these out of the closet, sort out the ones I don't wear/don't fit, and then put them away before I get the winter clothes out.  Yes, I have a lot of clothes.

The other night, while I was making dinner, I got out Play-Doh for her to play with.  It's been a long time since I did, but the last time she wasn't very interested so I kinda forgot about it.  But this time she had a lot more fun.  I'm surprised in myself that I didn't freak out when she mixed all the colors together :)

She loves her witch hat (as she calls it)...and see the smile?
And I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but she's even got that silly smile while she's swinging

I realize that most of my posts have absolutely no overriding "theme", but I'm ok with that.  It seems that things happen so fast with her, and there's so little time to catch it all, that I gotta cram it all in :)

How we spent our Sunday

So we tried the play-doh again.  She was a little more interested in it, but still not WOWED by it..
And I got her these headphones for our trip to Sweden this summer.  I figured it would be good to get them now and get her used to them rather than breaking them out on the plan and expecting cooperation.  Thankfully, so far, it appears that she likes them :)

And she's also a very big, but rather messy, helper when it comes to washing dishes...

It was a rather mundane, uneventful, but GREAT day!
