Our first solo outing!!!

Izzy and I took our first outing solo today, and it went really well. I was so nervous that she was going to wake up and want to eat, but thankfully, she slept the entire time. In fact, she's still sleeping right now :) I meant to take a photo while we were at Tetra Pak today, but it completely slipped my mind. I'm going to have to get better at this! We also went to Best Buy to buy a present for Joacim, but they were sold out. This short little adventure gave me a little more confidence that we can handle leaving the house. Now, if I could only get her on some sort of feeding schedule....

I started worrying a little bit the other day that my time with Izzy was already going too fast. I looked at her and thought that she had grown so much since we brought her home and I started to get so sad. But then I looked at the video of her right after she was born, and realized that she hasn't changed near as much as I had imagined. I'm so scared that I'm going to wake up one day and have to go back to work, and wonder where all of the time went.

The weather's been so beautiful this week so far, and I think it's supposed to be this way all week. I feel so bad for Murphy, though, because Izzy's been awake so much that I haven't been able to take Murphy outside to play as much as I'd like to. He's definitely affected by Izzy right now, and that's one thing that Joacim and I didn't want. I'll figure this whole thing out somehow...learn how to balance everything. I think it's just going to take more time than I thought, so I'm going to have to learn some patience.

You will find that balance. And you will always wish that time stands still. But I always find comfort in there are other stages that are going to be so much fun too.

Oh and once you find that balance...you'll start forgetting to pay your bills!!!! JAJAJA

Hi Jenn,

Congrats on your first outing! Big step! It gets easier and you will establish a schedule. The balance thing will come with time too - try not to worry about it too much. Enjoy your time with beautiful Miss Izzy. If you able -keep a journal - that's one thing that I wish I would have done with Leah. Murphy will be o.k. too - he's just trying to comprehend everything. ;-)
