4th of July Weekend - Benich Party

Yup....TOTALLY behind again.  And I've got good reason...no seriously...REALLY good reasons :)

Ok, let's be honest.  I think I'm probably a teeeeeeny bit over-extended, and this blog is suffering.  I'd love to promise it'll get better, but that kinda adds to the over-extended part, so I'll just say that I'll work on it, k?

It was a good weekend...let's just get that out of the way early.

On Saturday, we went to the annual Benich's 4th of July party.  It was a REALLY warm day and my legs/feet were really swollen, so this put a little damper on what I could do, but that's how it goes sometimes.  Izzy had a great time....playset, waterslide and slip-n-slide and she's good to go!

After eating some fantastic food, it was time for PARACHUTES! We've been coming to this party for 5 or 6 years now, and the parachutes are always the high-light.  A combination of fireworks and floating parachutes makes for a good time for the kids.

 Here are the little parachutes
And of course Izzy found the dessert table :)

It was so fun for me this time because Izzy played with the other girls. There were a LOT of girls at the party, and Izzy's the youngest.  There's one little girl who's just a few months older than Izzy, but she's VERY mothering, so she seems much older.  Anyway, all of the girls got along really well, and they had a great time playing with Izzy and taking care of her.  It was really fun to watch.
And the BEST part of the evening are the fireworks.  These guys take an old pickup truck, fill it up with fireworks and head off towards the field.  The Benich's have a HUGE backyard and live out in the country, which is pretty nice in this case.  Izzy still doesn't want to watch the fireworks outside, but she's fine watching them through the window, which is what we did.  I was able to step out a couple of times to snap these.

Another great evening and great party.  Thank you, Benich family, for inviting us and making us feel so welcome!

We got an invitation to a different-family 4th of July party this year - such fun! Love the pictures - the slide-to-slip-and-slide idea is awesome!
